Patent Pending — The Star Grind™ introduces a refined bevel geometry that minimizes the angle between the primary and secondary grinds, creating a flatter, sharper cutting edge. This results in a continuous cutting surface with minimal transition, unlike standard A, B and C bevel grinding methods.
This grinding process creates a distinct, reflective triangular facet at the tip—known as the Star Grind™, designed to allow tissue to glide smoothly over the flattened cutting surface. This angle configuration reduces resistance, allowing the needle to pass through tissue smoothly during both insertion and exit.
Patent Pending — The Heel Bypass™ Needle features a strategically engineered bend located between the heel and the base of the primary grind. This bend shifts the cutting edge to align with the top of the tube, allowing the piercer to use the tube as a visual guide and maintain a straight insertion path—no angle corrections needed.
Extensive field testing and documentation confirm the performance advantages of this invention. The strategically placed bend also eliminates needle drift and reduces the need for mid-procedure angle adjustments, eliminating much of the guesswork involved in angle alignment. Positioned in between the heel and base of the primary angle region, the bend repositions the heel below the cutting edge, minimizing tissue contact and reducing resistance, particularly during needle exit.
